Senate Gets to Work on Clean Energy PDF Print E-mail

Follow it live Washington, DC: The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee begins formal work today on a comprehensive clean energy jobs bill with the first of several hearings. The Sierra Club is optimistic and enthusiastic about the Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act. The bill will prepare the U.S. for its clean energy future, bringing with it more jobs, more security and less pollution. But it won’t work if corporate polluters refuse to pay their fair share.

That’s why the Sierra Club is reviving its Broken Record Project to respond to attacks on the bill in real-time.

With scheduled appearances from utility representatives, military and Obama administration officials among others, the hearings promise to be full of both intelligent planning for a clean energy future and ridiculous attacks from those who want to hold back progress.
